| Q: |
When
I create and preview FlaX movies, its exported text is not correct. It seems to be in a different language! Is this a
bug? |
| A: |
When
you are using an unregistered FlaX version, your generated text
will always be scrambled. This will disappear the moment you have purchased a
key.
|
| Q: |
Will
FlaX run if I do not have Flash installed? |
| A: |
YES!
FlaX runs absolutely independently of Flash. All program options will work identically
with or without Flash installed on your computer.
|
| Q: |
I'm
importing the SWF file that I've created in FlaX into Flash, but I only have a
lot of key frames. Further my screen is empty. |
| A: |
Make
sure that your text color is not the same as the background color of the movie
which you are importing into. For instance, if both are white, then that's the
reason you're not seeing anything.
|
| Q: |
How
do I load FlaX files into Frontpage? |
| A: |
Go to Insert - Advanced - Plug-In and click on the "browse" button. Select
your FlaX file. Now enter the appropriate size and click on OK. Finally,
save and preview your file.
|
| Q: |
How
to embed a FlaX file into PowerPoint? |
| A: |
Go to View - Toolbar - Control Toolbars and click on the icon which looks
like a little hammer. Select "Shockwave Flash Object" from the list. Now you
must drag a square on the place where you want the FlaX file to appear.
After you have done this, right-click on the box and the properties menu will
pop up. To add the FlaX file you must click on the word "Custom", and select
the "Build" icon (the three dots at the end of the line) Now you must enter
the Movie URL and check the "Embed Movie" box as well. Finally, save and run
your slide show in presentation view.
|
| Q: |
Is
there, or will there be a Mac version of FlaX? |
| A: |
No,
and for the time being there won't be any. However, the .SWF files that are created
with FlaX can be imported in Flash on the Mac: they are fully compatible.
|
| Q: |
I
like the screensaver that FlaX has generated very much. How can I distribute this
screensaver? |
| A: |
If you wish to make distributable screensavers, complete with installer, then
you'll need to purchase a dedicated Flash screensaver generator. There are several
packages around. One of these programs is FlashForge, which can be found at http://www.goldshell.com/flashforge
|
| Q: |
What
about the ShockWave plugin? Must it be installed on my computer? |
| A: |
NO!
FlaX runs independently of any installed Flash plugins. Also in this case, all FlaX'
program options will work 100% identically with or without the ShockWave plugin
installed.

| Q: |
Making
SWF files is fine, but wouldn't it be better if I could simply create .FLA files
with FlaX? |
| A: |
Compared
to .SWF files, which is an open standard, .FLA files are reasonably complex,
so this option will be much more difficult to implemented in FlaX. Beware that
due to the complex movements of most of the effects, just like the .SWF file,
also the .FLA file would consist of key frames only.
|
| Q: |
Help!
I've lost my text, FlaX doesn't display anything anymore! |
| A: |
It's
most likely that you've placed your text outside the visible area. Choose
for the "Center Text" option from the "View" pulldown menu, and the text will
appear again.
|
| Q: |
In
Internet Explorer I am seeing a border around the SWF whenever I mouse over it.
A help text appears near the cursor that says "Click to activate and use this control". It is kind of annoying!
|
| A: |
In
their new version web browser, Microsoft has changed the way active content
(such as Flash) is displayed. There are work-arounds possible, which require
you to add JavaScript to your page. You can read how to do that on the
Adobe web site .
